High School Reunion Chapter 2

My whole world shattered at her words. How could this goddess be my best friend? I stared at her dazed and confused, our eyes never moving away from each other.

She finally broke the silence with a question. "So, um, what have you been up to?" She said, smiling and elegantly swiping hair from her face. I jumped as she brought me back to reality. I stumbled my way through a response. After we caught up, I awkwardly asked her if she would like to grab some coffee with me, and thankfully she said yes.

I went back to my table, and I felt empty. Without her, nothing was interesting to me, and I ultimately ended up leaving early.

As the night turned to day, I was getting ready for my coffee date with Shawn (Shawna?). We met at our local Starbucks and we got to know each other more.

She told me that after High School, she didn't feel right as a male. She cut herself off from her friends, and started transitioning from Male to Female. After our coffee break, she told me to meet her at her place, since she wanted me for something.

I arrived at her apartment. It was fairly small, one bedroom and one bathroom. I didn't understand why she would want to be alone. She hadn't changed a bit, she could still have anyone she wanted but she preferred to be alone.

After standing for a while, she finally returned, her natural beauty glowing from every pore. "So, what did you want me here for?" I asked her, as she walked up to meet me face to face. "This," she said as her lips met mine in a passionate kiss.

"I've been wanting to do that for so long," she said, satisfied in her achievement. "Me too," I replied honestly. She told me that she had a crush on me ever since we met. I never thought that my best friend would have a crush on me, especially someone like Shawn.

I kissed her again, and before we could do anything else, I had to leave. I left with a smile on my face. I had a girlfriend, and she was the most beautiful woman in the world.
